abstract = "Many sensors for image acquisition has been widely employed in
remote sensing. With improvements on temporal, spatial, spectral,
and radiometric resolutions of these satellite observations it has
been possible to classify land surfaces more accurately and
precisely. The availability of these data makes it important to
offer users state-of-the-art techniques for classifying images
from different sensors. One of the most used Geographic
Information System is TerraView, a freely available geographic
data viewer with resources that include database queries and data
analysis. As TerraView has not yet incorporated some of the
advances stemming from the Information Theory framework, in this
work we present the current state of the development of a system
which integrates such tools, in order to classify images.",
